What makes STYDR different from other weighted vests?

STRYDR is designed to feel different the moment you put it on.

Using weighted gel technology and a close-to-body fit, it delivers a more evenly distributed, stable load compared to traditional vests that can feel bulky or restrictive. The longer torso design and adjustable fit help reduce movement and improve comfort during running and dynamic training.

The result is a weighted vest that supports natural movement, making it easier to integrate into the way you already train.

Can I add more weight to a STRYDR?

No. STRYDR is a fixed-weight vest and isn’t designed to have extra weight added. Because it’s often used for squats, lunges, step-ups and other more dynamic movements, a fixed load weighted gel filling is safer and more stable than removable weight blocks that can shift or bounce as you move.

What materials are your products made of?

STRYDR is a lycra and weighted gel technology, meaning that the weight is in the material of the vest, no added weights are required.

The Lycra fabric used in STRYDR production does not contain Benzothiazole or its derivatives

Do you offer product warranties?

STRYDR comes with a 12 month warranty.

Are your products environmentally friendly?

All our rucking products are designed with quality, durability and the environment in mind.

All materials used in the manufacturing of our rucking products are selected for their quality and eco credentials.

How can I contact customer support?

Our team is available via email at team@ruksak.com during Aussie business hours.

How do I clean my STRYDR?

When needing to clean your STRYDR we recommend a short 5-10min soak in a tub with mild washing detergent. We use a wetsuit wash which is antibacterial.

Then hang to dry.

As your STRYDR gear is heavier when wet you'll need to hang it on a balustrade, ladder or flat on an outdoor surface (towel on the ground in the sun). Don't hang it on the washing line :)

If it is just needing a quick wipe over then antibacterial wipes are great also.

Ensure your RUK gear is fully dry before packing away.

Does a weighted vest improve bone density?

Used with impact and resistance training, plus adequate protein, calcium, and vitamin D, a weight vest can help maintain bone health.

Is a weighted vest safe for my joints or back?

Yes, when used properly: keep the load moderate, ensure a snug fit, maintain good form throughout movement, and avoid use during an active injury.

How should a weighted vest fit?

Snug but not restrictive, with even front–back load. No bouncing or shoulder pressure points.

What are the best exercises to do with a STRYDR weighted vest?

The best exercises to do with a STRYDR weighted vest are dynamic, functional movements where added load can build strength, work capacity, and endurance without throwing off your mechanics. It’s especially effective for training styles like CrossFit, HYROX, circuit work, stair climbs, walking lunges, step-ups, bodyweight strength work, sled pushes, and shorter runs where appropriate.

Because STRYDR sits close to the body with even weight distribution, it works well for movements that demand power, stability, and repeat effort, rather than awkward or overly technical lifts where extra load can compromise form.

How is STRYDR different from cheaper weighted vests filled with loose iron sand or pellets?

STRYDR is different because it’s built for performance, comfort, and stability, not just added weight. Unlike cheaper weighted vests that use loose iron sand or pellets, STRYDR is designed to keep the load balanced and secure against the body, which helps reduce shifting during movement and creates a more stable training experience.

That matters in faster, higher-output sessions like CrossFit, HYROX, running, circuits, and functional conditioning, where loose-fill vests can bounce, move, or feel uneven. The result is a vest that feels more streamlined, more comfortable, and better suited to real training.
