I found rucking through desperation.

After a decade of relentless travel trying to be the world's best entrepreneur, my poor lifestyle led to me having super high cholesterol, fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes.

All of which was concerning, but the desperation came from a Cancer diagnosis.

Cancer changes your perspective on things.

Desperate to reverse my poor health and live longer for my kids, I started to move again.

At the time, all I was fit enough to do was walk.

So I started walking like a guy that was trying to outwalk cancer (I did a lot of walking)

After a while I got “walk fit”, which is a major timesuck as I would need to walk for hours for it to feel “meaningful”.

While testing my prototypes over the past 8 months I have managed to reverse all my comorbidities … Rucking has saved my life.

So I purchased a weight vest and started walking with 8kgs in the vest.

The weight vest did the job to shorten my walks by making them harder, but it also shortened them as it made walking way less enjoyable.

Uncomfortable is an understatement.

It made breathing really hard as the weight sat on my chest. I also didn't like that I couldn't wear my beloved hydration pack and had to carry a water bottle.

One positive of the vest though, is that it made me discover rucking.

“Hey Google … How to comfortably carry weight while walking?”

Rucking was the answer. But when I tried to buy a rucksack, I could not find anything close to what I was after.

RUKSAK was born!

While testing my prototypes over the past 8 months I have managed to reverse all my comorbidities … Rucking has saved my life.

So my plan is to sing the praises of rucking and share my story with whoever will listen.

It's a game changer, and is almost like I am cheating exercise.

And a lot of Aussies need to know about it.

Even though I have developed two ruck based products, RUKSAK and RUKVEST. I just want people to start making moving more meaningful by adding weight, even if that's just adding books or water bottles to a backpack.
